item 1-Essay on Disney princesses portrayal
essay on Disney princesses portrayal
within this essay, it speaks about the portrayal of snow white. This film influenced the girls of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to be domestic house wife's and only a man could provide to the house hold. Also they needed to find an attractive man and teach their children the right gender values.
item 2- artist rip down
The-unbelievable-anatomy-Disney-princess-revealed
within this website post, its shows a artist taking how they portray each style of character this shows the body of the characters. Within the post, it shows how the Disney princesses are portrayed and how they would look within real life. I feel this links to the question of unfair portrayal as no one needs to change their look to impress other or to feel like a princess.
item 3-harmful stereotypes
-harmful-stereotypes-
within this website post, we see the common stereotypes with our favourite Disney movies. This posts shows about the little mermaid. she had to completely change her looks and actions to be able to get interest from the love of her life. Also, with Cinderella, you need to be the most beautiful person to win the heart of another.
item 4- the representations of Disney princesses
representation of princesses
within this video, it expresses how every princess only wants to get a prince. none of the princess have other goals which influences the younger generation that all they need is a prince to get the best in life. This shows they are not capable of doing anything else by there self.
item 5-female stereotypes in Disney
female stereotypes in Disney films
within this video, it shows the strong stereotypes within the Disney and it shows how Cinderella had to be domestic and needed high stature to be noticed by a prince. Bella was in a abusive relationship and stayed which gives the younger generation the impression that abuse is okay and men need to be the dominant in the relationship.
item 6-disney feminism
Disney feminism
within this video, it shows Wendy from the film, peter pan and how she is treated by peter pan at a young age. With this, it shows how women are insignificant to the male population.it doesn't refer to her by her name but just "girl".
item 7-stereotypes within gender
gender stereotyping!
in this video, it shows over more then one film how the representation of princesses was to be house workers, naïve and submissive to the male population. The films included are Cinderella, Bella, jasmine, Rapunzel, snow white and Alice.
item 8-saved
how they saved themselves/prince
in this post, it shows how each of the six princesses in the picture saved themselves/their prince. all o them related to sex and beauty. this shows an unfair portrayal as they should be loved for who there are and not the way the look or their sexuality.
item 9-image of princesses
with this image, it shows a representation of skinny is the only way to be a princess. this is a bad way to influence the young generation and let them feel what theu are isn't good enough to get what they want from life.
item 10- images of princesses ages
within this image, we see the real ages in the story of the princesses. This shows a representation forcing young girls into the habit of there beloved princess role model. This makes it more likely for the younger generation to be influenced and be ready for the rest of their life at an early age.
item 11-main film
the main film for my small research project is Cinderella. this is because she has the most stereotypes and influences within her film. she has the most unfair portrayal due to being the maid to a unlovely family, not having a high stature due to being hidden away from others, submissive to the family controlling and abusing her and the use of her beauty winning the love of the prince.
item 12- side film 1
the first side film I want to use for my small scale research project is beauty and the beast. just the title shows that you need beauty to be able to change someone for the better. also, the character of belle is naïve due to her dreams and ambitions which everyone shot down apart from her father and the use of her sexuality to change the beast to his human form.
item 13- side film 2
the second side film i will be looking into is Ariel from the little mermaid. this is because she changes everything she is known as to meet the one she thinks is her true love. She also is submissive to the prince as she wants to please him and make her fall in love with her,

city of god question
how far does the impact of the films you have studied for this topic depend on distinctive uses of film techniques?
the use of location at the start of this scene shows how they are hidden away and trying not to be detected by the police. the scene uses quick changes of camera angles to show the overwhelming nature of the scene.the scene begins with rocket narrating over it. it explains how tiger has changed since angelica left him.the camera changes focus from benny and steak and fries to Tiago. this is because he doesn't belong in the area surrounded by lil ze's crew. being singled out in such a place is very dangerous due to not being protected by a gun.the deal is quick due to the danger of the situation. the camera keeps changing angles to show how everyone is watching as the the city of gods is small and compact. Tiago knocks over blackys bike which creates danger. causing trouble could stop trade with him, he's hooked which could lead to withdrawal symptoms which could get him in more trouble.tiago then says "I'm sorry, godfather"

4 words for la haine
Heroic- i chose this word as the three main characters are the main leaders of the society who make a stand up against the police. they travel around which other in the community stayed put in the comfort of the project.
Tense- i used this word because in every argument vinz was involved with. there was a tense atmosphere as he was the one holding a gun in his pocket. the audience was anticipating when he gun was going to be drawed/ if it was on to be drawed.
Bleak- i chose this as an word because the story didn't follow a narrative. i feel every moment which the trio made became repetitive and made it easy for the audience to be able to judge what was going to happen.
Hopeless- i feel this was a good word to use as i feel this fight they were fighting was hopeless and wasn't going to be able to keep it alive and not being able to win it. the people around the teenagers in this society are hopeless because they are being portrayed like the teenagers in the project.

Small Scale research project
Outcasts of society who power through
Hairspray - weight/racism = main focus film
annie- orphan = side film
billy elliot- male dancer= side film
item 1=Hairspray [2007] director-Adam Shankman
I chose this film as my main film because it contains two different types of outcasts. the outcasts int he films are to do with racism and weight.weight relates to the main character of the story, tracy turnblad.she is seen as oversized and isn't allowed to achieve her dream. she goes to impress and pushes her way on to the corny coins show and wins the hearts of the show's audience. the second outcast in society is to do with racism. the black society were seen as outcasts and were highly segregated and discriminated against. with the use of media and their close communtity , they were able to change the views of the white society and be able to live as one.
item 2=Annie [1982] director-John Huston
I chose this as a side film as the main character is an outcast of society who powered through. this is because Annie is an orphan, a child who was left by her parents who is allowed to stay with an millionaire for the press. he changes his feelings for the orphan and wants to help her with her dream to be back with her real family.unforately, her family died in a fire ad so the millionaire protects her and makes her apart of his family.
item 3= Billy elliot [2000] director- Stephen Daldry
i chose to pick billy elliot as a side film because the main character, billy is an outcast of society who powers through.this is because he is a male dancer which was very rare.he fathers worry for billy is that he will become homosexual because its classed as a girls hobby.it all started when he was sent to a boxing lesson and was knocked out.he decides to watch a ballet lesson in the next room, this inspires his love for dance. he has to prove to his family with support from his teacher, he can do it and enter the royal ballet academy which he does.this shows he is an outcast of society who powers through.
item 4= making of billy elliot
within this documentary, it shows how they got a actor who had similar backgrounds to "billy". using this allowed the character to build up and be put straight onto the situation.it shows the story of billy and the story of jamie bell and how similar they are.this show why certain senses are used in the film like the end of the miners, this shows of the community is broken and how families were falling apart because of it.
item 5=hairspray
within in this interview, it talks about the american dream. teenagers girls dream were to be on tv [in this case, the corny colins show] and showing off to all they're friends. to be seen by everyone while with the teenage heart throb.
item 6=genre and hollywood book
musicals were first not identified as a musical[ a separate genre] until 1933.they used to merge music-making with romantic comedy, the word " musical" became a descriptive function for plays which included these features.musicals offer aesthetically ‘utopian’ solutions to real social needs and contradictions.i choose to to use this book because it discusses the genre of musicals. this is important as it is the key feature to my catalogue.
item 7=the quaker campus
